Tempat-tempat menarik di Alor Setar...jom p

Info ni aku dapat cket2 from staff dekat Menara Alor Setar...ringkas dan padat...jom cuti2 Malaysia...

Alor setar is the capital of Kedah. It is mainly known as Rice Bowl state of Malaysia. Alor Setar is a town that historically rich which has collections of modern structures on historical significance.

Menara Alor Setar

Menara Alor Setar is located in the heart of Alor Setar. It is a modern landmark that represents the rapid development of Kedah. It is the 2nd tallest tower in Malaysia and the 19th tallest in the world. Its function is both for telecommunications and tourist appeal which standing at 165.5m (543 ft). Truly, it is a spectacular viewing tower with variety of functions and festivities held all year around. It is officially open to visitors on 14 July 2007 by the grace of Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.


Zahir Mosque

Zahir Mosque was built in 1912. It is the most beautiful mosque in Malaysia. Zahir mosque which situated in the middle of Alor Setar town is Kedah official mosque. It reflects strong Moorish influences which inspired lent of the design by the late of Sultan Muhammad Jiwa Zainal Abidin II.





Balai Besar


Balai Besar was built in 1898. It is located near the main padang or town square of Alor Setar. Balai Besar is still used for royal ceremonies and some state functions. The Thai influences in it architecture are seen in some complex wood carvings.

Balai Nobat


Originally built in 1854 and renovated in 1906. It is a house of sacred instruments of the Royal Orchestra, played only throughout inaugural royal ceremonies, weddings and funerals. The instruments which produce the haunting strains of nobat music consist of three drums, a gong, and flute.

Balai Seni Negeri


State Art Gallery is within the neighborhood of the town square in a beautiful colonial edifice. Some work of art, antiques and artifacts found in the state are exhibit here.

Pekan Rabu

Wednesday Market is a bazaar, so called because it was typically held on a Wednesday. The bazaar is one of the main appeals for visitors which are open every day from morning until night. Variety of local farm produce, handicraft, local delicacies, outfits, fruits and trinkets can be found there.


Cik Spacendra's Palace


This building is located in Alor Setar, built in 1882.It is also known as Istana Kampung Baharu. It was the palace of Cik Spacendra the first wife of Sultan Abdul Hanaid Halint Shah (1881-1943).

Pusat Sains Negara

National Science Centre is attractive destination to be visited in Alor Setar. Its location is situated in Gunung Keriang about 8 km from Alor Setar town. It displays public about science technology and new innovation. The most interesting part is as you visit the exhibition hall and join the adventurous of riding bicycle on rope. Enjoy the captivating moment there with family and friends. The Center is opened starting from 9 am to 5 pm and good things there were the entrance is free.

Muzium Padi

The Rice Museum is located near Gunung Keriang which is another Kedah’s tourist’s attraction. The building unique architecture do keeps promising variety of attractive things inside which displays various paddy related equipment, the old bicycle, fish trap; an ordinary item that provides additional income to paddy field owners and many more. The beautiful piece of art will catch your eyes which look so authentic and adorable. It’s really worth with affordable entrance fee. Enjoy the exciting experience as you visit there.


Gunung Keriang


Mount Keriang is one of the major tourist’s attractions in Kedah. It is located 10 km from Alor Setar, a mark with landscape that is possibly jagged than the casual sightseer might like, but it is just exact for those in search of adventurous and exciting activities. Rice fields surround by the small recreational park with a limestone hill, and a nearby park and cave which offer more opportunities for discovery awaits you.

Istana Anak Bukit

Istana Anak Bukit is a lovely place which is a present-day palace of the Kedah Sultan. Visitors are welcome there during weekends. It is decorated in the Malaysian formal style of landscaping with the lovely grounds.


Mahathir's House

It is a house where Malaysian former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad was born. Designated as historical building where items from his childhood until he be a doctor displays there.


Istana Kuning


Istana Kuning is originally a guest palace reserve for royalties in 1904. Its location is situated beside the Alor Setar Tower. It is the place to held official royalty function.

Jam Besar

It is an old clock built in 1912 which located near to Alor Setar Tower.


Rumah Merdeka

Rumah merdeka is the house of 1st Prime Minister of Malaysia. Visitors will get the opportunity to view Tunku's collection and memorial.
